A striking example of Danish glass design, this Holmegaard “Selandia” art glass bowl was designed by legendary Danish glass artist Per Lütken.

Introduced in 1957, the Selandia collection became one of Holmegaard’s celebrated mid-century designs. Characterized by its elegant, free-flowing form, the bowl has a beautifully sculptural silhouette that appears almost weightless despite the substantial glass.

This example is particularly captivating in a luminous blue glass, graduating from delicate translucent blue across the sweeping body to a rich, deep cobalt tone at the base and along the flowing rim. The asymmetrical form changes beautifully depending on the viewing angle, making it as much a piece of sculpture as a functional bowl.

What makes this piece especially desirable for a collector is its original Holmegaard presentation box and accompanying original brochure – a wonderful addition that is increasingly difficult to find with vintage examples.
